A day trip to the West gate of Yosemite will take about 35 minutes on nicely maintained roads, and just over an hour to the Valley floor. While settled in nature, the house is near by a grocery store, a museum, park with a climbing structure for kids' play, restaurants, shops and coffee houses. Please note this house is not wheelchair accessible, all guests must be able to climb two flights of stairs. The historic town of Columbia is a 50 minute drive and a rich, historic experience. Multiple caves, Tuolumne river canyon, mountain lakes, white water rafting are just the first things that come to mind. For the little ones there are free "adventures" near by, drive to airport to see airplanes take off and land, horse stables to touch a horse's nose, beach and playground with a slide, swings, and sandbox, feeding trout at Moccasin Creek Hatchery, or the steam train found in Jamestown. Wintertime, you can snowshoe and cross country, and downhill ski at Yosemite. Downhill skiing/snowboarding is possible with a little over an hour drive to either Dodge Ridge or Yosemite's Badger Pass ski resorts. Guest access Most of the house, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, all the common areas like kitchen, living, dining, laundry and all patios. The $30 parking pass will give you parking access to all the amenities. Within the PML community, you will have access to an 18 hole championship golf course, clubhouse/ grill, beaches, a seasonal casual beach restaurant, seasonal boat and kayak rentals, a water taxi to take you between the three beaches, equestrian center, numerous hiking trails, archery and shooting ranges, a public swimming pool, tennis and pickle ball courts, and more! It is per car, for the entire stay so it makes sense to carpool if possible. Guest will not have access to the garage, and a small closet on the downstairs hallway. Other things to note -Please note this house is not wheelchair accessible, all guests must be able to climb two flights of stairs. - The Pine Mountain Lake community charges a per car/ per visit fee of $30.00 upon entry. This is a one time charge at the front gate which goes directly to the PML community for maintenance, etc. - Quiet times (10pm to 7am) must be observed. - We get full bars/ 4G service with Verizon at the house but not everywhere throughout the community. -There is a water taxi available on PML for $2 per person per day. You may also rent kayaks and boats at the PML marina. - A California State Fishing License is required to fish on the lake. Licenses are available at the marina from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and at the main gate year round. -The PML Grill hosts live bands on many Saturday evenings, so if you plan to dine there on Saturdays, we recommend planning ahead and making a reservation. -We love the Two Guy's Pizza either eat in or take out! -We are just getting this house onto the vacation rental market so we're still working out the kinks.
